Bromantane – an unusual stimulant

Bromantane is an unusual nootropic drug. It is a stimulant and simultaneously reduces anxiety and calms (it is an anxiolytic). This is a very rare and desirable combination. Many people want to have more energy, but this is often associated with anxiety reactions caused by the medicinal substance. Especially when plasma levels of the substance drop or the drug is too much. Naspeed promotes anxiety. Those who use amphetamines or other stimulants know this. Bromantane adds energy but does not cause anxiety, making it a stimulant with unique properties.

Bromantane has a dopaminergic effect, increasing desire and motivation for action. It also increases the activity of serotonin, norepinephrine (stress resistance), while increasing GABA neurotransmission. Thus, it has a mood-stabilizing effect and helps direct energy for action. In addition, it increases synaptic conduction, which leads to an increase in neuroplasticity and the conversion of short-term memory (STP) to long-term memory (LTP) – in a very important process in the assimilation of information. Importantly, bromantane is unlikely to show an increase in tolerance as a result of its long-term use, and it is not addictive.

In Russia, it is used as a treatment for neurasthenia – a neurotic disorder that has a not fully understood origin, and manifests itself as fatigue, irritability, depressed mood and anxiety.

This drug compound has gained use among fans of nootropic agents due to its action profile, as it fits well into their definition (it is safe, improves brain parameters). The effects of its use are:

  • Stimulation;
  • reduction of fatigue;
  • increased motivation for action;
  • improved concentration for a longer period of time;
  • increased ability to absorb information;
  • improved memory;
  • calming and reduced susceptibility to stress.

Dosage of bromantane

  • first effects: after 30-60 minutes;
  • peak effect: 2 to 4 hours;

Bromantane is lipophilic (dissolves in fats and not in water), so it should be consumed with fatty foods.
Bioavailability by the oral route is about 42%.
